My involvement in art is predominantly in design – I like to see structure in a work.  Although at present I work in a realistic style, using many preliminary sketches, I lean towards the surreal. Painting must be personal, a unique view.  If I use references they are declared as in “recent portraits no 1” where an attempt is made to capture not only the spirit of the sitter, but also a few key moments, pre-occupations from their life. My work includes seascapes, landscapes, portraits, still life and abstract. At present I am working on a series of portraits and some designs originating from a visit to Australia.
