Isabel Rondle spent her childhood in Brazil, the war years in England and in 1946 entered Liverpool College of Art to study dress design, which provided her first lessons in drawing and painting. After the death of her first husband she took a refresher course in design, subsequently spending two years at the Liverpool Notre Dame Teachers Training College, concentrating on ceramics. In 1968, by this time remarried, she set up a commercial pottery studio at her farmhouse in Kent, at the same time starting a teaching career in Arts & Crafts at local schools, which lasted for 20 years. In 1989 she retired to Spain, where she joined a group of Artists with whom she now regularly exhibits her paintings and ceramics
