Bob just about qualifies as a cockney, that is (he says) if you believe that Bow Bells could be heard in Lambeth, at night time, in 1938. He is proud that his first failure, like Churchill’s, was the school work, although he did make up for this later at adult education classes.
As a Telegram Boy, at the start of his first career, he began his lifelong love of motor cycling, afterwards becoming a despatch rider with the Royal Corps of Signals. He retired in 1994, then having completed his third career, twenty three years with the Automobile Association.
He continues to motor cycle, using much of his remaining time painting, glass etching, burning wood (poker work), and now shares his skills & exhibits with Artists Unlimited.
